Lance Foord resigned from full time employment as a telephone engineer to start his own carpet & upholstery cleaning business in 1975 as there was a gap in the market.
He carried out cleaning demonstrations at Victoria Park at the Salisbury Hospital Fate (see pictures on the home page), and grew from strength to strength. In 1978 he then operated from his Devizes Road premises and soon became a household name. In 1989 his son Ashley joined him and contributed to building the business carrying out domestic and commercial carpet and upholstery cleaning throughout Salisbury. In 1996 Ashley then went on to start a new business diversifying into dry cleaning and he opened his dry cleaners in Fisherton Street, Salisbury. Ricky then filled Ashley's position and continued to maintain Lance's high reputation cleaning carpets and upholstery for many years before deciding to start his own business in Marlborough. Tony Knott then decided it was of interest to him and trained with Lance filling Ricky's shoes and still operates today. Lance and Tony now operate from Ashley's shop in Fisherton Street, Salisbury
